Box2D Physics Engine

Late last week I began to evalute Box2D, the latest physics engine bundled with Cocos2D. One objective I wanted to meet is a light weight and portable engine that could be used on a variety of platforms. Turns out Box2D is a simple, C++ implementation not dependent on the STL. This is exactly what I wanted and with the benefit of object oriented.

The engine provides simple physics complete with mass, gravity, continuous collision, rigid body etc. Within a few tries and by reading the manual and reviewing sample code, I was able to get a simple app running to demonstrate falling objects (sprites) with basic collision detection.

More to come (Critters!) as I continue to evaluate this amazing engine. Comments are welcomed on this post. Please tell me about your experience with Box2D, good or bad.
